Wednesday: Rather cloudy, but becoming brighter from the north with the best of any sunshine in the west. Showers in the north and east. Some may be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder across northern and eastern Scotland. A freshening northerly breeze bringing cooler air, temps, 10-16c.
Thursday: Cold and windy. Sunshine and showers in central and western parts. Showers may turn wintry on Scottish hills. Longer spells of rain coming into the east later. Temps, 5-12c.
